1 Year Anniversary
Who would have thought one year would go by so quickly. 1 Year ago we unveiled our printer at TCT3Sixty, and this year we have returned to show off the fantastic progress we have made!
Also we were at the award ceremony, which was really cool!

First printers delivered
The very first machines are now located in their forever home; we could not be prouder! Now to make the rest of them.

Production baby, production
That’s it, the factory is living, machines are getting produced and delivered. To be able to do this in such a short timeline really just shows how lucky we got with our fantastic suppliers.

Autosport International
As we wait for supplies and stock to arrive, time to show off our newly KS funded printers to more people. At this stage gaining as much data on possible users is vital in making sure we produce a high quality product – also it’s a great excuse to go see some REALLY pretty cars!

Going up to new heights
With the KS success and everyone’s trust put into us, it’s imperative to get the factory in order – For this we worked really hard to put up a second floor in the freshly painted factory unit.
And the kicker is, this was fully complete on December 23rd! What a great holiday gift to ourselves.

Kickstarter!!!
With the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, we would never have expected to have a fully funded campaign in under 12 hours from launch!
It’s exceptionally humbling to see the support given to us by the community and the faith put into us to back us on Kickstarter.

Influencers
We’re going to Malta in October, from the 11th to the 25th!
Joel Telling and Joe Casha are meeting with us to review the printers for their YouTube channels.
Hopefully, this is the first step on the path to going global.

Launch Event Completed
We launched at TCT 3Sixty on June 8th.
It was a mad rush to finalise everything in time, but really exhilarating – we knew we would rise to the challenge.
The printers went down well, and everyone we spoke to was encouraging.
We’re pleased to have met so many new contacts, who are equally as excited as we are to help us push the printers to the masses!

Named
It was hard, but we found the perfect logo and name.
CONSTRUCT3D® is authentic, tying in the various definitions used in engineering, mathematics and grammar; and couldn’t be more perfect for our company.

The Build
After years of experimentation, we completed the design of the Construct 1 and Construct 1 XL printers. They were almost ready to start showing to the public.

Graduation
Jacob graduated, meaning that he could pour more of his energy into his passion for printers.
The graduation came 2 years late thanks to COVID, but was worth the wait.

Funding
Another bid garnered another success. This time, the competition was for university graduates to pitch their company, product and its viability against others in a bid to win seed money for equipment and materials.
The money was well-spent on new CNC machines and equipment to increase the quality of the printers – and we were one step closer to the final product!

Success
Our first project as Seraph Technologies, a VR-based foray, found success in a DASA bid.
Although there was strong competition, we won! However, there was no leftover money to fund our ideas, so we decided it was time to double down on 3D printing.
We focused on creating the fastest possible printers that produce the highest quality prints at the most affordable prices.

Initiation
The design underwent an unexpected test. With COVID-19 causing shortages of PPE, we supported N3DPS by being their engineering and project consultants.
Our partnership resulted in a newly-designed, hyper-efficient face shield headband. We were able to produce these in under 11 minutes each, while other printers took over half an hour!
We discovered our machine didn’t just work – it excelled.

Development
With the purchase of a budget CNC, new options became possible: a custom all-metal bed, with a machined frame – and those were just the beginning!
We integrated every successful element to bring the perfect printer to life, testing and repeating until we found the recipe that worked best.

Prototype
The first large machine is built: lightweight aluminium 4040 extrusions, reliable Titan Aero, Nema 24’s for flexibility, and a responsive 32-bit controller.
However, thin side panels causing vibrations and drumming, inconsistent z-movement and not having a heated bed were the least of its issues…

Inception
After receiving a 3D printer as an 18th birthday present from his parents, Jacob’s hobby became designing and printing parts for Airsoft and eSk8. Eventually, he realised that his printer just wasn’t up for the job.
To stop its acrylic brackets from flexing, resulting in printing backlash, he changed them to 4mm steel and made the printer a true Core-XY.
This was the inspiration for him to start creating his own, fully-bespoke 3D printer.
